How to Donate

There are many ways in which you can donate to the Foundation, and each one is as valuable as the next, because it comes from those who care about health services in Biggar and District.

You can make donation by cheque, E-transfer, credit card, designated the Foundation in life insurance policy or by Bequest in your will. 

For credit card donations the Foundation is utilizing the services of Canada Helps to process the donation and issuing of the tax receipt. For credit card donations please use Canada Helps link. 

For E-transfer, please send to biggarhealthservicesfoundation@outlook.com and in the message box, your full name and mailing address for tax receipt purposes.

We would like you to know that the Foundation has a priority need for unrestricted gifts – this means that you allow the Foundation to use your gift to move one of its priority projects forward. You can also designate your gift. This means you can specify which area of health services provided in Biggar and District you would like to help. You can specify your donation be designated to the following health services - Acute Care, Long-term Care, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Home Care and Community Services.

The following is a list of many ways you can give and for many reasons.

General Donations – Gifts can be designated to help purchase urgently needed medical equipment or to one of our endowment funds.

In Memoriam – A perfect way to remember loved ones while making a vital contribution to improve healthcare in Biggar and District.

In Honour – Honour and remember loved ones on a special occasion. An acknowledgement card with your consent will be sent to the honouree, or their family, informing them of your kind gesture.

Special Thanks – This is a wonderful way to thank staff members and doctors who made a difference in your care and recovery. An acknowledgement card, with your consent, will be posted in the health care facility.

Monthly Giving – The most effective way to provide steady on-going funds to help support the Foundation. Monthly giving will make it easier to give a larger gift over a 12 – month period.

Planned Giving – A planned gift is a special, carefully planned donation that is tax-effective and balances your financial needs and charitable goals.

All donations are tax deductible. Biggar and District Health Services Health Foundation (BDHSF) will issue charitable tax receipts for all cheque, E-transfer donations, life insurance policy and bequests donations greater than $10.00. Canada Helps will issue charitable tax receipts for all credit card donations on behalf of BDHSF.
