Requesting Water Service
The following items are required by the Town prior to turning on the water:
Water Meter Deposit of $100.00
Date you want the water service turned on
Meter deposits may be made in the following ways:
In person at the office by cheque, cash or debit. We do not accept mastercards or visa.
Water service will not be in place if the above requirements are not met. Water service can only be turned on if someone is at the house. For new homes requiring a meter install, please contact the Town Office for a water and sewer line to be installed.
Water bill actual readings are done every 4 months: March/April, July/August, November/December. Estimates are done in between: January/February, May/June, September/October. If people want an actual bill during the estimate months, you can read your own meter and call it in between the 20th and 25th of that month, (February, June, October) and we will give you an actual reading.
The water bills are processed and mailed on that last day of the specific billing period. For example: February 28th or June 30th. The bills are due and payable 38 days after the billing date. Water and Sewer cut off notices are then sent and services will be disconnected approximately 10 days from that notice if the account has not been paid. Reconnection fee to get your services turned back on is $75.00.
Minimum bill for residential services is $57.00 for 4000 gallons depending on how much water you use. If you use more then 4000 gallons you will be billed an overage charge of $3.25/1000 gallons of water.
